วันนี้ได้มีโอกาสชมการถ่ายทอดสดงานประกาศผลรางวัล Academy Awards ครั้งที่ 81 (Oscars) ซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่ Kodak Theatre ในคืนวันอาทิตย์ที่ 22 กุมภาพันธ์ 2009 ตามเวลาสหรัฐฯ ตรงกับเช้าวันจันทร์ที่ 23 กุมภาพันธ์ 2009 ตามเวลาบ้านเรา โดยงานประกาศผลรางวัล Academy Awards ครั้งที่ 81 นี้ ได้ Wolverine …. Hugh Jackman มาเป็นพิธีกรหลัก
ประกาศผลรางวัล Academy Awards ครั้งที่ 81 นี้เริ่มต้นด้วยวงดนตรีบรรเลงเพลงเปิดงาน พร้อมกับ Hugh Jackman แนะนำ และเกริ่นเปิดงาน โดย Jackman มีการปล่อยมุขที่ล้อเลียนสภาพเศรษฐกิจที่ตกต่ำอยู่ในขณะนี้ ว่า หลังจากที่เขาได้เล่นภาพยนตร์ Australia แล้ว ภาพยนตร์เรื่องต่อไปของเขาคือ New Zealand เล่นเอาฮาได้เลย
จากนั้นเขาก็มีการแสดงเล็กน้อยล้อเลียนภาพยนตร์ที่ได้รับเข้าชิง ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, The Dark Knight, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon ซึ่งตอนที่ Jackman กำลังเล่นอยู่ในช่วงของ Frost/Nixon เขาได้ดึงตัว Anne Hathaway ขึ้นมาร่วมแสดงด้วย โดยที่ไม่ได้นัดหมายไว้ล่วงหน้า
